We got a lot of helpful feedback this week. And we've decided to make some sweeping changes across the board for our game, to both reduce scope and keep it focused on what makes it fun and unique.

We're ripping off octodad now

  • removing character abilities
  • adding suspicion bar
    • suspicion added when knocking over things or bumping into NPCs, or going into restricted areas
    • each player gets a suspicion bar, active suspicion bar is decided by who is on top when stacked
  • game will now be 3rd person split screen
    • turns into a single screen when combined


what we completed on the gameplay end of things

  • guard AI
    • gave a cone of vision
    • gave a reaction time
  • improved camera
    • trying split screen and shared top down (scrapped for new direction)
